The memory of the magical 2000 Red Sox (85-77) will forever be tarnished.But let's hope we can look past this dark spot and remind ourselves of some of the finer moments of 2000:

• The dawning of the Dante Bichette era
• The meteoric rise and subsequent fall of Wilton Veras, which lead to the appearance of not only Sprague, but also Gary Gaetti and Sean Berry
• Over at first, we had not only Daubach, but Rico Brogna and Morgan Burkhart
• Izzy!!!
• Alleged boozers Mike Lansing and Bernard Gilkey. Alleged. (Though there's court paperwork on Gilkey.)
• Pete Schourek! Jeff Fassero! Brian Rose!
